Freestyle Writing

WALT: Freestyle write about an image

Today we were given a image to write about. This is the image that we had to write about, tell me what you think in the comments below, please. Thank you.

The wind rushed through her hair as she descended the mountain at great speed. For most children
this would be an exhilarating even terrifying experience, but for lucy it was just an ordinary journey.

Lucy’s life style was really different to most people’s. Lucy lived in a hidden home high
above in the tree’s. Her family had been living in their home, ever since Lucy was a newborn.
Lucy’s mum and dad were always so satisfied from the features of mother earth’s unique
forest and native birds. And that’s the reason why they had built their home so high above.

Lucy’s parents had been concerned about what her schooling would be like in the past year’s,
if she went to a public school. They weren’t so sure how she’d turn out, they didn’t want their
little girl to get bullied and treated differently. They wanted a girl that would be happy and always
feel good for who she is, they also wanted their daughter to be a smart, kind, intelligent girl.
So they decided to homeschool their little girl.

As she grew up, everything went as planned. She was all a parent would ever wanted.
A Kind girl kind of like cinderella, but with her kind and realistic parents. Lucy was quite
happy with her lifestyle. She had never been ungrateful, played up or been unhappy before.

Most day’s lucy’s parents would send her down to town on the zipline. Lucy loved the
zipline, everytime she was sent down to town to get things for family she’d felt as free
as a single feather, slowly spinning in the air like a special ballet dancer.

Technological world!!!

The Technological World

Lately in Term four we have been focusing on, "How has Technology helped us in time?" Firstly we had to pick a technology type, and work on it. For example my group has chosen, " How has consoles changed threw time." Well obviously consoles have had a really big impact in time. From back in the ninety's to the twenty thousands, big change. Here is a link below, that me and my team have been working on about.

How has consoles changed in time?

Thank you, for taking your time to read this!
Hope you liked this, by learning about consoles! :)

Math's Reflection

Math's Reflection.
W.A.L.T: Add, double, subtract and divide decimals.

Today we have been working on our math's sheet. Lately we have been working on decimals. We have to be able to understand our place value, double, division, addition and subtraction with decimals. I've been workin on with the math's grid. I have enjoyed doing the grid because, Every question i had to answer, i had to colour it with a colour. And when i finished working on the grid, it turned out to be a butterfly. I've enjoy decimals because, I'm actually starting to understand decimals. For me its just like as if you got money. This has had made a big impact on me because, before I never knew how to do decimals. I was really shocking, for example I wouldn't even know how to do, "11.4 + 3.1". Thanks to Ms. komor and Ms. Aireen.

Opinions

Opinions
W.AL.T: Give our own full opinions about pests

Earlier this morning we have been working with Ms. Treena. Ms. Treena had given us something really someting to argue our opinion about. We were talking about what animals were that endangered our environment. And this is what we had had to write our agree or disagree our opinion on,

My opinion to Nature Watcher was...

Dear Nature Watcher,

I strongly disagree with you. I disagree with your opinion because, it wouldn't make our environment any better. If we were to respect these "Pest", they would still effect our environment and endanger our native. And can we do anything for them to stop doing this!? I believe not.

I enjoyed writing my opinion because, I hope this person understands my me.

If you were too give your opinion to Nature Watcher what would it be? :)

Manaiakalani Festival

Manaiakalani Festival

W.A.L.T: Learn new things from eachother.

Today our school Tamaki Primary had went to the Manaiakalani festival, posted in Sylvia Hoyts. As we watched the videos each schools had made, my eye had caught interest. The video that I had really enjoyed, was Point England's video, It was called the Rubbish monster. It caught my interest as soon as soon the girls had chucked their rubbish on the ground. At first I was like, "What the heck, why would they even trash their own environment." Wouldn't they feel ashamed for trashing their own school. But as the video kept going it started turning up a level. What did I learn from this, I learnt how to not litter. I also liked our two videos that were made from our school, and those ones were the "kindness." and "T.E.A.M." What did i get out of these two videos was to work as a T.E.A.M and to be kind. Being can get someone along way, even just a smile makes get people along way.

Pacific Production

KIA MANAWANUI PRODUCTION

This week we have been practicing our pacific production play.
Lately we have performed in front of majority of the school, and they've enjoyed our show.
The whole idea to this production was to show them a little bit more about natural disasters, and what are the causes of a natural disaster.

Their are six countries that we have done a natural disaster on, and they are the most common natural disasters that happen most of the times in these countries, and these are the disasters and countries we have done put together in our production. They're Fiji - floods, Samoa - Tsunami, Niue - landslides, Cook islands - Volcanic eruptions, Tonga - Hurricanes and cyclones and last but not least our home land New Zealand - Earthquakes.

Each story was interesting, like in one story their was a person that didn't win the drum competition and he was so filled up with jealousy and anger that he slammed his drum sticks on the ground, and because of that he had awoken the volcanic beast. Which caused the volcano to erupt and destroy most of the village and kai moana in the sea. This story had the message of volcanic eruptions in natural disasters.

In some of the plays their were people that had caused these disasters to happen in these villages/countries, or something happened before and then the disaster happened without notice. In each skit has a message.

Museum Reflection

MUSEUM REFLECTION.

Lately back in this term, we have gone to the museum and discovered about natural disasters, more tech and a squid. Learning more about the natural disasters,  we went to the volcano room and discovered more about how, when, who and what things happens during an explosion. One thing that caught my interest in the volcano area was, the person that had turn't into a statue. It had been frozen for a really really long time. We have learnt how to use a green screen, that makes you look like your standing in front of something or where. Underneath below will be some photos of what happened when we were at the museum.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori

Kia ora koutou, ko Star toku ingoa. Earlier this term we have been doing our Pepehas for "Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori." As you read my Pepeha I hope to find more whanau out there. Thank you. Hope you enjoy.

Natural disasters

Natural disasters
WALT: Research about natural disasters.

What is a natural disaster?
A natural disaster is a disaster that happens naturally out of no where, for example floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, avalanches, tornadoes, landslides, sinkholes, wildfires, tsunamis, sand storms and hail storms.

What is an earthquake?
An earthquake is something that shakes the ground which rips apart or pushes together, and destroys the surface we walk all along on. It is noticed as one of the main disaster in the world.

How do earthquakes happen?
Earthquakes happen when two large pieces of earths crust separate and crumble away. This causes shock waves to shake the surface of the earth, which is now causing an soft, medium or violent shake called an earthquake. Earthquakes usually occur on the edges of large sections of the earths plates.

Cyber-smart!

CYBER-SMART!!!
WALT: Be cyber-smart online.

In kia Manawanui syndicate, as a class we have been discussing the importance of using technology online life. Most kids nowadays are too focused on being on different websites and apps on their devices. While these kids are online they're posting positive and negative on the internet. This happens mostly everyday.

So kia Manawanui have been thinking of "What does positive and appropriate look like online."
Ms komor now then gave us presentation for the class to work on. We then started commenting positive and appropriate comments to the Manaiakalani cluster. We chose three schools and commented either a positive, thoughtful or helpful.

My first blog reflection for term 3 2018

My two favorite things that happened in the holiday.
</
My two favorite things that we did previously in the holidays, was cooking and relaxing. My favorite part of cooking was always getting to eat the food I had made, and not worrying bout anything else but enjoying my snack breaks. I also enjoyed chucking in different little pieces of food and spices without any bother from the family. My favorite part about relaxing was always spending time with the family when special occasions had had happened, and how I got to see the family that I haven't seen in a very long time. Another thing I liked about relaxing was sleeping in and having no one to disturb me to do chores (as they usually do).

What I am looking forward to this term?
For this term I am learning to be an quiet independent learner, and focus on getting everything done. "Why?" Well my opinion is if I focus and stay on task then maybe I will be able to get to the standard I'm mean't to be at. I will also be able to do work at the speed I can work on but still finish at the same time. Secondly i'll also be able to get my blogs perfectly done, and made sure that my spelling, punctuation is written correctly. I'll also will love to do other challenging things that I haven't done before, and will give me something really hard to think on.

What am I looking to improve on this term?
Well i'm looking forward to stay on task and make the better for me. "Why?" So I can be on point and find what i'm looking for on any task I am working on, and improve to my teachers that i can work independent without any distractions. "How?" To keep going forward with a positive mind set, and keep pushing myself until i get to the end.

Technology

WALT: Make food in technology, and follow the exact instructions that we are given from the teacher. We are learning to cook because, it's important for us to know how cook in the future. And it's also important because, it's so that we are ready and organised for our grown up lives. I have enjoyed cooking food, my most favorite was to eat the cupcakes at the end. In this way I think I've been getting better at this because, i'm starting to learn how to cook more and more food, i'm also being able to make this at home when ever we have the ingredients, anytime I feel like eating this or that. Had no problems making these cupcakes, correctly made with the right amount of things I needed in it to make it come out perfectly made.

School Values Goals

WALT: Remind ourselves on what we have to be like in and out around school. In class we wrote the meaning to us in each value. (Rangimarie - Peace, Tukumarie - Tolerance, Manakitanga - caring for others, Ako - Learning, Whanaungatanga - Building positive relationships.) I enjoyed this lesson because, I think it was a good idea for miss Komor and miss Aireen to make us work on the meaning of each value, and what it means to us also what we would do to show this value. I have gotten better at showing the values after knowing what the English meaning of each value in Maori mean't. I have also gotten better at this because, I know how to show and react to all values. I've shown that I can do this by practicing and writing what i can do and improve on every time. My work is about how can we show and do the right things to show these values in and out of school.

Math Test Reflection

WALT: Reflect on what we should do, and improve on next time we do math in class. In class our teacher has given us students, a test that we worked online. After the test we reflected on what was easy and what was hard. We also reflected on what we could do, and improve on with our math work next time. I enjoyed this because it was nice to challenge it was also really hard, but at least I go to notice as always work isn't always going to be easy in life. Work is about challenging yourself with things you haven't tried before, that you think you wouldn't of tried before. I have gotten better at challenging and trying, but even though I don't always get my work done or either get some of my work incorrect at least I have learnt something new. My work is about to always try and challenge yourself with every new possible thing in every working problems.

Maths Reflection

WALT: collaborate and communicate in a group, and solve the problem together as a team. We are also learning to work out different strategies for the problem that we are solving. I enjoyed this because everyone in my group got to work and show new strategies, and we all got a saying to what we thought this problem was showing and telling us. I have improved on talking and showing my work in front of my work mates. My work is about working as a team and to be confident in front of others.

Technology Reflection

WALT: Cook and reflect on what we have done in what we were doing during cooking class. Which is obviously we have been grabbing ingredients for cooking class. I enjoyed this because I got to make something meaty, I also enjoyed this because at the end once again I got to eat this dish that me and my partner has had made. In this way I have gotten to make it correctly and follow the exact instructions. Today my work is about cooking and and reflecting on my work.

My strengths

WALT: Write different strengths about ourselves, and how we will show this strength and how we will do it. We have also discussed why its important to have strengths. I have enjoyed working on my strengths because, it's great to show what you are and what you show to your strengths, especially if you post it on your blog because, then most people at school with net books that check your blog will think, "Wow isn't she/he sound nice to play and hang around with." With my post it shows what type of person I am which is kindness.

Te Tuhi

WALT: Write about our experience at the te tuhi art gallery.
On Friday we learnt how to be quiet and respectful to others, we have also learnt how to developed more confidence in front of people doing our role plays that we presented. Later on after the plays, we went to the art room with a lady named salome, where she took us to do art about a fairy tail story based on our plays. We have also gotten taken to 2 rooms to look at art. One room was full creative drawn and painted art. Then salome took us to the next room it had 2 big screens, the videos were slow and creative.
